Currently showing at the Victoria Miro Gallery http://www.victoria-miro.com is Tal R. ‘s is a refreshing and intriguing exploration into colour, form and meaning. I thoroughly enjoyed the way it is curated. Not a single painting mounted on the wall instead the visitor is invited to walk through a field of humorous and playful painting and sculpture installation. “Armes de chine” refers to a classic manual about weapons from ancient China , the simplicity of the forms and bold use of primary colour interprets as abstract art of the 60’s and 70’s , but in context the installation does hold that mysterious charge and vibration and one can almost hear the tones and sounds of a very ancient military past. Recommended and open until 25th July 2009.
